CARLOS V (1516-1556). Ducado. (Au. 3,44g/22mm). S/D. Nápoles. (MIR 128; Pannuti-Riccio 6). MBC. Vanos de acuñación. Muy raro ejemplar.

Carlos I de España, V de Alemania pero también, aunque menos conocido, IV de Nápoles acuñó este magnífico Ducado durante el primer cuarto del siglo XVI. Estamos ante una pieza donde la simbología está presente en todo momento, destacando la leyenda imperial Rey de Romanos en el anverso y la heráldica del reverso, directamente heredada de Fernando el Católico, como rey de Nápoles, a la que sólo se ha añadido el águila bicéfala y el escusón de los Austrias en el pecho de la misma. Además, la misma leyenda del reverso destaca por la novedosa alusión al Reino de las Dos Sicilias, título que englobaba a los Reinos de Nápoles y Sicilia.
