TAIFAS DEL CALIPHATE, Anonymous attributed to Toledo. Dinar fraction. (El. 0.38g/10mm). S/D. (Codera and Zaidin (1897) 1047 bis; Ibrahim, Cantó (2003) Supplement to the Kingdoms of Taifas, no. 169, French no. 362). Anv: لااله الاالله / محمدرسول الله. Rev: الحو ل و القوة / الله. (For God / power and might). Very Fine. Scarce.

Codera attributed this coin to Almería "because it had some similarity with some coins from Vives' number 1047, although the hoard where those coins appeared also contained other coins from the taifas of Toledo, Badajoz, Córdoba, Valencia, Dénia and Zaragoza. However, following the intuition of Dr. Albert Cantó, it would be David Francés who would give a more logical reasoning for its origin, in his book "On legitimacy, successions and their reflection in Andalusian coinage" on pages 137-139, justifying the attribution of this coin to Toledo, during the presence of 'Umar al-Mutawakkil, king of Badajoz."
