MERINITES, Anonymous. Double Dirham/Amulet. (Ar. 2.69g/23mm). Late 13th or early 14th century. (Album 547D and Brethes 1072, as an Almohad coinage; Hohertz 872a, catalogued as RRR). Religious legend divided into 5 lines in both areas. VF-/VF. Remnants of suspension element detached. Very rare. **Although this piece is similar to the double and quadruple dirhams of Abu Hafs 'Umar (Album 493S and 493T), it is currently considered a very early Marinid issue.
