ALMORAVIDS. Anonymous, attributed to Yusuf ibn Tashufin (480-500 AH). 1/8 Dinar. (Au. 0.57g/12mm). Undated. (Album 464B). Obverse: الله/ اله الا / لا (Not/god but/God). Reverse: الله / رسول / محمد (Muhammad/is the messenger of/God). VF+. Extremely rare. The only two similar pieces we have been able to locate at auctions were sold by Stephen Album Rare Coins, who points out that the similarity of these pieces to the 1/4 Dinar, Album 464A type, allows us to consider the possibility that they also correspond to a Sijilmasa issue.
