Indígena, inca o limeño… así es conocido el busto de estas monedas, que al igual que otras muchas, dejaron de acuñarse cuando desde Cádiz llegaron los punzones y matrices del busto oficial realizado por Félix Sagau, grabador general para los reinos de España y las Indias. La unificación de los retratos grabados en las monedas, además de suponer una reorganización estética o artística, suponía también dar cierta sensación de unidad política y presentar al rey como único mandatario tanto para el territorio peninsular como para América.
