La Junta Central Suprema Gubernativa del Reino nace de la unión de las diversas juntas provinciales surgidas de manera espontánea y como reacción a la invasión francesa de 1808. Se constituyó el 25 de septiembre de ese mismo año siendo sustituida por el Consejo de Regencia el 31 de enero de 1810; éste, a su vez, sería relevado por la Regencia del Reino el 20 de enero de 1812.

The Central Supreme Government Board of the Kingdom was born from the union of the various provincial boards that emerged spontaneously and in reaction to the French invasion of 1808.
