Propuesta no adoptada del anverso de un billete de 500 Pesetas en un formato "tipo dólar" y fechada en la propia prueba en Enero de 1961. La viñeta central es un grabado calcográfico, lo que nos da una idea de la importancia del trabajo, al requerir más recursos de la propia fábrica, entre otros la de un grabador experto. Para la prueba se ha utilizado básicamente la técnica del collage, empleando un fondo geométrico en ondas de fondos y superponiendo elementos separados como los diseños guilloché de las orlas, las rosetas de las denominaciones, la viñeta, su medallón e incluso un elemento circular para la marca de agua en la que se aprecia una propuesta. Los textos del billete están delineados en tinta. Además, el diseño de la marca de agua es otro elemento a reseñar ya que elimina la posibilidad de que se trate de un simple ejercicio de diseño al incluir las firmas del Administrador, Cajero y Gobernador.

La idea del billete alargado, a semejanza del billete norteamericano, parece que estuvo muy presente en la F.N.M.T. y así lo reafirma el coleccionista y experto Don Ramón Cobo Huici, al que agradecemos enormemente su ayuda en la redacción de esta descripción técnica, ya que ésta insiste en el año 1969 con otro boceto de este mismo formato (Edifil NE65P) junto a otros proyectos y valores con la imagen de Francisco de Goya y Lucientes en formato tradicional. Además, habría hay que añadir que se realizaron otros bocetos en 1961 con el formato alargado y por otros artistas, lo que viene a refrendar la idea de que no fue una idea particular sino la directriz de un departamento de la fábrica.

La propuesta de este billete "tipo dólar" está sumamente elaborada, no sólo por su técnica, sino porque también se conoce el boceto del reverso en el cual figura la imagen del interior de una iglesia, posiblemente la de San Sebastián en Madrid, prueba que, obviamente, hace pareja con esta pieza. En definitiva, estamos ante una bonita y espectacular pieza con un relevante peso en la notafilia española del siglo XX, tanto por la original propuesta como por la calidad de su ejecución.
